Today we are featuring a great cross platform flute VST from Varazuvi. The Varazuvi Indian Flute VST is available for both Windows and Mac users, in 32bit and 64bit editions. Varazuvi does a good job of making their plugins cross platform in general, so if you are looking for a trove of cross platform effects and instruments – they are worth a look.
Varazuvi took 2 octaves of indian flute notes and created this sweet little ROMpler VST. Standard Attack, Decay, Sustain and Release controls are present, along with three separate playing styles in combination with short, medium, and long note sample options for each. Another sweet feature is the super high quality of the samples – 24bit, 48khz for each.
Varazuvi was nice enough to put a one-knob digital Reverb at the end as well, to help give your flute track a little bit of “space” quickly. It can be super nice for quick little reverb edits. Another tip we can provide is to try using the built in reverb before a more configurable reverb VST or AU in sequence. The combination can create some really sweet spatial effects, sometimes in unpredictable and quite cool ways. You can extend this trick out to any combination of two or more reverbs you like, for best results it is good to combine both a short and long tail reverb, each with separate settings. A little bit of reverb can go a long way, however – be careful not the muddy your mix, and be sure to lengthen the Attack parameter of your reverb, if possible, so as not to destroy the initial hit. Well, unless you want to destroy the initial hit. In that case, by all means, do :).
